Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: January 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the London Glazing website and the provision of our glazing services. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order or commissioning work.

1. Company Information

London Glazing is a trading name of Grater London Glazing. Our registered address is 19 Cyclamen Place, Aylesbury, HP21 8YS. We are FENSA registered for the installation of replacement windows and doors. Contact: 020 4634 0088 or info@greaterlondonglazing.com.

2. Definitions

“We”, “us”, “our” refers to London Glazing / Grater London Glazing. “You”, “your”, “the customer” refers to the person or company commissioning our services. “Work” or “services” refers to the glazing work described in our quotation. “Contract” refers to the agreement between you and us, formed when you accept our quotation.

3. Quotations and Pricing

All quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation. Unless otherwise stated in writing, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Prices quoted include VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable. Quotations are based on information provided by the customer and a visual survey of the property. Should additional work or materials be required beyond what was quoted (for example, due to unforeseen structural issues or rot discovered during installation), we will inform you and agree any additional costs before proceeding. We reserve the right to adjust prices where there has been a significant change in material costs between the date of the quotation and the date of installation.

4. Orders and Acceptance

A binding contract is formed when you accept our quotation, either verbally, in writing, or by email. For orders requiring bespoke or custom-manufactured glass and glazing products, we may require a deposit of up to 50% of the total contract value before ordering materials. The balance is payable upon satisfactory completion of the work. You acknowledge that bespoke products are made to your specifications and cannot be returned or refunded once manufacturing has commenced.

5. Your Cancellation Rights

For domestic customers, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel a contract within 14 days of acceptance, provided that work has not yet commenced. If you request that work begins within the 14-day cooling-off period, you acknowledge that you may lose your right to cancel once work has started. To cancel, please notify us in writing at info@greaterlondonglazing.com or by post to our registered address. Cancellation of bespoke or custom-manufactured orders may be subject to reasonable charges to cover costs already incurred (such as glass cut to non-standard sizes).

6. Scheduling and Access

We will make every reasonable effort to carry out work on the agreed date(s). However, completion dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We shall not be liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather conditions, supplier delays, restricted access to the property, or unforeseen site conditions. You agree to provide safe and clear access to the work area on the agreed date. If we are unable to carry out work because access was not provided or the site was not adequately prepared, we may charge a reasonable call-out fee.

7. Our Obligations

We undertake to carry out all work with reasonable skill and care, using materials of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. All installations will comply with relevant Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry codes of practice. Where applicable, window and door installations will be registered with FENSA, and a FENSA certificate will be provided to confirm Building Regulations compliance. Our team are qualified, experienced glaziers. Where Gas Safe, electrical, or other specialist certifications are required for related work, we will use appropriately qualified sub-contractors.

8. Your Obligations

You agree to provide accurate information about the work required. You confirm that you are the property owner or have authorisation from the property owner to commission the work. You agree to notify us of any relevant planning restrictions, listed building status, conservation area requirements, or lease/freeholder conditions that may affect the work. You agree to clear the work area of fragile or valuable items before our arrival. Any costs arising from inaccurate information provided by the customer may be charged additionally.

9. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS), debit card, credit card, and cash. For larger projects, we may agree staged payments at defined milestones. Late payments may incur interest at the rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. We reserve the right to suspend or withhold services where payments are overdue.

10. Guarantees and Warranties

All workmanship carried out by London Glazing is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months from the date of completion, unless a longer period is specified in your quotation. Sealed double-glazed units carry a manufacturer’s warranty, typically 5–10 years against seal failure and misting. FENSA-registered installations are backed by a FENSA insurance-backed guarantee, which provides protection in the unlikely event that our company ceases to trade. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, third-party interference, failure to follow our care and maintenance advice, or normal wear and tear. Guarantee claims must be reported to us in writing at info@greaterlondonglazing.com within a reasonable timeframe of discovering the issue.

11. Liability and Insurance

London Glazing holds comprehensive public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance. Our liability to you for any loss or damage arising from our services shall be limited to the contract value of the work, except where the law does not allow such limitation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or any economic loss arising from our services.

12. Complaints and Disputes

We aim to resolve any complaints quickly and fairly. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us at info@greaterlondonglazing.com or call 020 4634 0088 and we will endeavour to resolve the matter promptly. If we are unable to reach a satisfactory resolution, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. As a FENSA-registered company, complaints about installations can also be referred to FENSA’s complaints procedure.

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, supplier failures, civil unrest, fire, flood, or severe weather conditions.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
